In 2003, on a day off from his nine to five job as a dispensing optician, Olu Michael Odukoya started a magazine that is as bold, big and beautiful as the mountain it is named after: Kilimanjaro. Ignoring all advice on how to make a print magazine, Olu simply followed his own vision. Bi-annually, he publishes editorial experiments and his view on visual culture on loose poster-sized sheets that are folded and kept in a box.

From unknown graphic designer, Michael Bojkowski is now a reference name in the cyber world, recognized by the projection of his avant-garde blog Linefeed . Making videos where it shows what he considers to be the best design magazines worldwide.

Matter is a new biannual publication that records the ways in which new and developing technology affects culture, lifestyle, fashion, and the arts.
Created by the studio behind the acclaimed arts and culture magazine Kilimanjaro, Matter shares the former’s curatorial approach to design and content.

Matter’s unique selling point is the fact that it is the first art and style publication to examine these subjects through the lens of modern technology; in doing so, it brings together the creative and the rational in a way which is rarely seen in the realms of printed matter. First issue includes: Dieter Rams, Ole Scheeren, Matthew Collings, Pierre Huyghe & William Gibson.

Brusselssprout is a free curatorial magazine on contemporary thinking and emergent art.

Brusselssprout aims to become an open, independent and alternative platform offering content related to the artistic and cultural world. It strives, with the help of the curatorial endeavours of artists and projects that can contribute a different layer to the ever more monopolized artistic scene.

Brusselssprout is a luxury for those of us doing it and hopefully for those who consume it.

Adapted for the latest electronic devices (Ipad, Kindle, etc), Brusselssprout can be downloaded quarterly in ePub and PDF format from brusselssprout.org

Empire II is the sequel to Andy's Warhol Empire film. On Saturday 25 July 1964 (46 years ago) Andy Warhol and Jonas Mekas filmed the movie Empire. Empire is a silent, black and white film that lacks a traditional narrative or characters. The passage from daylight to darkness becomes the film's narrative, while the protagonist is the iconic building that was (and is again) the tallest in New York City. Empire II is the continuation of the Andy Warhol work: creation of non-media as media, film as non-film. The film was shot on July 27th, 2010 by Andre Orione, David Payton and Lohra Ydna and presents Burj Khalifa (aka Burj Dubai) from 6.35 pm till 12.02 am that very day.

Just found!

Back before inkjets, printing was a time-comsuming laborious process, that took teams of people working together to produce just one book.

You must watch this video, enjoy.

Who doesn´t know Marion Bataille!? She is a graphic artist and illustrator who also works in all the best French Publishers. You may know her first book to be published in UK ABC3D.

Marion Bataille is coming out with a new pop-up book! "10" it should be available soon in France. Can’t wait! // isbn: 978 226 208 729

It is a great demonstration of criativity. Particulary I appreciate the part of the letter V and de "double v" showed in the mirror. I think it's brilliant.
