As true admirer of everything that as to do with FREITAG, I was really excited with the release of the new REFERENCE Bag Collection.

In the same place I heard about it (swissmiss), I saw their mini lecture series, curated by swissmiss her self, the FREITAG am Donnerstag (Friday on Thursday), to celebrate their new REFERENCE Collection.

We are inviting all of those who are in or nearby Évora to come and visit our recently opened NAD/ Design Cafe. We are located in Praça do Sertório near the Town Hall.

NAD/ Design Cafe has as its goals creating a good cafeteria service and a meeting point for NAD working team. We are also open to partners, friends and public in general.

Besides its distinct and cozy environment, NAD/ Design Cafe will have a very diversified calendar of activities developed by NAD workers or by its guests.  Therefore,  one can find here open talks, lectures, projections, live music, among other events.

NAD/ Design Cafe is integrated in a wider project named NAD/ Design Center. This project pretends to be a lab of creative and artistic activities.

This video, suggested by Nuno Veiga, is an amazing motion work, not only because of the way the managed to create all the ideas for all the 35 movies, but also because of the great, but simple, graphic/motion design.

gosto!

While I was "walking" around on my daily reference blogs I found this project, via { designvagabond }, and I just wonder how nice this would be at my backyard.

Each time I remember flying over The Governors Island I remember what a special place it is, so close do Manhattan, and so different. And thinking about this project, a sustainable design of Ann Ha and Behrang Behin, I remember also the 99% Conference in April, where the plans for the island were presented.

What a great way of using this fabulous place.

All you need to know in here.

We're always trying to complicate, looking for the latest gadget in the market (at least I am), and the we get free simplicity lessons like this.

Of course, this is not as simple as it looks, because light is a big deal in photography (and then the make-up and hair also). We can also blame the post production.

But even so, this is a fantastic exercise from  Lee Morris at Fstoppers

Nuno Veiga reminded me of this video where we can see one of the newest Sagmeister's adventures. There's no doubt that he is special...

One of this days I found the new brand for Australia and I thought how interesting was that the client accepted a symbol that, not only is a simple one, but also could be said that wouldn't symbolize anything.

But, just some days after it was public, there are people that sees in it the borders of the Australian map, others see boomerangs, and other see things that I simply can't see.

Anyway, I liked it.

You can know more about it at Brand Australia.

I found today, at a "must see everyday" website (Graphic-ExchanGE), this simple, almost basic, layout, that I really like.

I'd like this was mine...

This is a LoSiento design.

Tipografia e mancha de cor... A simplicidade fala por si, e neste caso fala muito bem. É mais um exemplo de que o suporte e a técnica de produção são essenciais na concepção do desenvolvimento criativo de um designer gráfico. O "packaging" faz todo o sentido lembra-me as caixas VHS.

Yesterday we're talking, in a in-house session, about all the great production techniques, and how we all sould know more about them, and today I found, via swissmiss this great video.

The author/director creates a great tutorial about screen printing, in a really good video.

A pretty rough guide to screen printing from Andrew Bell on Vimeo.

Unfortunately the quote isn't mine. But I wish it was.

Plan poster

oiii, não sei se concordo muito com esta frase. Mas o que queria mesmo dizer era dar os parabéns pelo vosso site. Que grande evolução qualitativa... Já guardei nos meus favoritos! bom trabalho para todos! fico a espera do próximo artigo.

Last month I had the chance to attend to the 99% Conference, at NY. It was great to see and ear really interesting people (great Sagmeister, even with a fever), and to be at the lauch (and get one) of the Behance book. It was also great to see the way the designers behind the event worked all the communication. Simple, but great. One exemple of this is the introduction video of the conference.
